Advanced UNIX System for Enterprise-Class Intel
Processor-Based Servers

The UnixWare® 7 Release 7.1.1 Enterprise Edition operating
system is an advanced network operating system that offers exceptional
quality and reliability for enterprise-class computing on Intel
processor-based servers. It delivers the scalability, availability
and performance demanded by 24x7 enterprise-wide business-critical
applications. Designed to support large scale databases and enterprise
applications, it is a cost-effective yet rock-solid platform to
replace expensive, proprietary midrange systems in medium-to-large
computing environments. It can be easily integrated with legacy
systems and enables high speed access to enterprise data through
its rich network and Internet protocol support, LAN and WAN connectivity
and seamless PC client access.
UnixWare 7 delivers vastly superior availability and on-line serviceability
by leveraging the latest innovations in industry standard technologies
such as Hot Plug PCI, Multi-path I/O and I2O. UnixWare 7 ensures
that the information critical to your business is dependable, accessible
and accurate.With SCO® clustering product offerings UnixWare®
7 NonStop® Clusters and Reliant® HA UnixWare 7 combines
to deliver highly available systems. Managing its services is made
simple via graphical managers and system monitors, reducing the
cost of administration, software upgrades or user support. Using
the exciting built-in UnixWare 7 Webtop, SCOadmin managers and server
applications can be run from any browser, making remote management
and accessing applications easier than ever. UnixWare 7 Enterprise
Edition leverages the price/performance benefits of Intel enterprise
servers and the reduced cost of ownership of network computing,
without giving up the power of UNIX systems or risking the reliability
of business-critical services.
This next-generation operating environment affords enterprises
complete flexibility in choosing the best application architecture
and the right clients for maximizing process efficiency and IT investment.
Fully compliant with open industry standards, Year 2000 supported
and EURO ready, its core components such as the filesystem and system
libraries are 64-bit ready. UnixWare 7 is a strategic platform that
is widely supported by the industry's leading enterprise OEMs and
ISVs, ensuring easy migration from existing platforms and maximum
investment protection.
