A Multipurpose UNIX Server Operating System
Designed to Meet the Needs of Small to Medium-sized Businesses

The UnixWare® 7 Release 7.1.1 Business Edition operating system
is designed to economically meet the needs of small to medium-sized
businesses. UnixWare 7 Business Edition is built for environments
where a server is expected to perform multiple mission-critical
tasks. By combining the reliability and scalability of a UNIX system
with the economy of Intel processors, UnixWare 7 Business Edition
delivers the dependability demanded of a business application server
at a cost affordable to the smallest of businesses. An edition of
UnixWare 7, the most advanced OS on Intel processors, UnixWare 7
Business Edition is the ideal OS of choice for migrating your business-critical
applications currently running on RISC UNIX, SCO OpenServer
from The SCO Group or Windows NT® servers.
In addition to being an excellent applications platform, UnixWare
7 Business Edition also reliably delivers the multiple network and
communications services that are essential for today's businesses.
UnixWare 7 Business Edition provides file and printer sharing for
UNIX, Novell and Windows clients via its bundled SCO VisionFS
server and NetWare® UNIX client. Internet services including
E-mail, web server, FTP server and remote access services have been
included to meet all of the Internet needs of smaller organizations.
ARCserve®IT from Computer Associates v6.6 has been included
so that a UnixWare 7 Business Edition server can be the backup server
for your Windows and UNIX clients.
Now, if you can use a web browser, you can use and administer a
UNIX system server. The latest Web technology is offered via the
UnixWare 7 Webtop utility that is integrated into UnixWare 7 Business
Edition enabling web connectivity for management and application
access. Management tools have been redesigned and made web-accessible
so that administrators can manage their UnixWare 7 servers from
any Java technology-enabled browser or Java workstation. The
Webtop also provides web access to applications running on UnixWare
7, negating the need for X emulators, terminal emulators, proprietary
clients, etc.
This advanced solution affords small to medium-sized businesses
complete flexibility and economy in choosing the best application
platform with the communications components needed for their environments.
UnixWare 7 Business Edition protects your current investments by
supporting easy upgrades from other platforms and compatibility
with your existing client devices.
