STREAMS driver interface

The STREAMS interface is part of DDI (Device Driver Interface) and ODDI (OpenServer Device Driver Interface). It provides a message-based interface that is used to support networking facilities on UNIX systems.

The STREAMS interface for UnixWare and OpenServer systems is documented in the following:

  • Section D2str manual pages

  • Section D3str manual pages

  • Section D4str manual pages

  • Section D7str manual pages

  • Developing STREAMS modules and drivers

The OpenServer 6/UnixWare 7 and OpenServer 5 STREAMS interfaces are quite similar. See the individual manual pages for notes about differences between the two platforms.
