Java Technologies on UnXis Platforms

UnXis is a provider of Java implementations and Java technologies for UnXis operating systems vendors/resellers. UnXis believes in Java!

UnXis was a source licensee of Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition technology from Sun Microsystems, Inc., and has ported it to UnXis platforms. The Standard Edition includes all that is necessary to both develop and execute Java applications, including the Java Virtual Machine, dynamic compilers, core libraries and APIs, and command-line development tools.

UnXis was also a licensee of the Sun Java Compatibility Kit (JCK) test suite. All UnXis Java 2 Standard Edition releases pass the JCK.

As part of the porting process to UnXis platforms, UnXis has made enhancements to Sun technology in various areas. Some of these are described in product Release Notes, while those to the performance-improving just-in-time compiler are described in the UnXis-authored paper "The Simplest Heuristics May Be the Best in Java JIT Compilers" (published in ACM SIGPLAN Notices, Vol. 38, No. 2, February 2003).

Older versions of Java 2 Standard Edition v. 1.3.0, Java 2 Standard Edition v. 1.2.2, and the Java Development Kit v. 1.1.x are also available (in some cases, for older releases of UnXis operating systems.)
