OKP is a new feature available for UnixWare that provides more choices for OpenServer customers. They can choose to continue to update their OpenServer environments as each subsequent release of OpenServer becomes available, or they can choose to migrate to UnixWare 7.1.3 / OKP. Either option protects 100% of the customer's investment in OpenServer applications.
Why Migrate?
Customers who choose to migrate to UnixWare 7.1.3 /OKP can immediately take advantage of the additional features and capabilities of UnixWare without any changes to the OpenServer application or the OpenServe application environment.
For example, OKP on UnixWare increases system availability and reliability. UnixWare has achieved 99.999% availability. However, if your needs exceed that metric, UW has features that increase the system availability even further. The optional services CD for UnixWare includes Reliant HA which provides high-availability clustering solutions for environments that require high levels of application, system and data availability. Using Reliant HA for UnixWare 7.1.3 you can create loosely coupled, highly available 2- to- 4 node clusters. Hot plug CPU, hot add memory, and hot plug PCI lets you avoid scheduled downtime for system maintenance.
OKP on UnixWare can support up to 32 CPUs per system, increased file sizes up to general purpose memory support up to 16GB and multi threaded high performance journaling file system. Even if you don't need all of these sophisticated features at once, its important to know that they are there to support your growing business.
