OpenServer 6 and UnixWare 7 share the same kernel and kernel interfaces. The native device driver interface for OpenServer 5 differs from OpenServer 6/UnixWare 7, although there are many similarities, especially for STREAMS and MDI device drivers. Check the "Version applicability" field on each manual page for information about which operating system releases and device driver interface versions support that particular entity. To develop a single device driver that runs on UnixWare 7, OpenServer 6 and OpenServer 5 as well as other platforms, use UDI.
