How can I switch between console multiscreens SCO OpenServer 5.0.7V for Vmware?
Keywords
openserver 5.0.7v 507v vmware esx esxi workstation crtl alt multiscreen console switch f1 gui graphical login
Release
          SCO OpenServer System Release 5.0.7V
Problem
I have installed, configured and booted my SCO OpenServer 5.0.7V for
the VMware Virtual Appliance and I have the scologin GUI open on the
          virtual console.

What key sequence should I use to switch between the 12 console
          mulitcreens?

Solution
Switching between OpenServer 5.0.7 console multiscreens is usually
achieved by pressing the key sequence:

          <Ctrl><Alt><Fn>

where if, for Fn, you press F3, you are switched to multiscreen 3.

A total of 12 multiscreens are supported and implemented.

This same key sequence can be used when running on a virtual console
connected to an ESX or ESXi server.

However, if you are running SCO Openserver 5.0.7V on VMware
          Workstation 6.5.2 the key sequence:

          <Ctrl><Alt>

is the mouse defocus and because of this you cannot switch
multiscreens on an Openserver 5.0.7V console running on VMware
Workstation 6.5.2 and VMware Vsphere 4.1:

To workaround this problem you either:

          1) Use the key sequence:

          <Ctrl><Alt><Spacebar>, release <Spacebar> and
then press <Fn> (while continuing to press <Ctrl><Alt>)

          ie. Ctrl-Alt-Space-Fn

          or:

          2) Under VMware Workstation select:

Edit -> Preferences -> Hot Keys

and reprogram the Hot Key combination to something other than
          <Ctrl><Alt>.

This will then allow you to use the:

          <Ctrl><Alt><Fn>

          sequence to switch multiscreens.

NOTE:
CTRL-ALT-Space Fn is only needed when moving from the GUI
          (usually in tty02) to a text-based console.

When moving from a text-based console to another text-based consoles
pressing CTRL-ALT-Fn works as before without needing to press the
          SpaceBar.
