OpenServer 5.0.7 detects my disk but does not display its capacity correctly.

Release
          SCO Openserver System Release 5.0.7
Problem
While installing or configuring an new disk with OpenServer 5.0.7,
the operating system sees the disk but the capacity of the
disk that is seen is only a small percentage of the actual
          size of the disk.

CAUSE:
The cylinder limit in the OpenServer 5.0.7 disk geometry is 65535.

The exact geometry is determined by the specific disk controller
          driver that you are using.

Most SCSI Drivers use 255 heads and 63 sectors/track for large disks.
          Multiplying all the maxima:

          65535 * 255 * 63 * 512 bytes/sector

gives a maximum disk size of 539043724800 bytes or about 539GB.

Solution
The maximum capacity of a single disk that can be recognised by
OpenServer 5.0.7 is dependent on the disk driver being used to
          control the disk.

Many SCSI Controller Host Bus Adapter (HBA) Drivers supported with
OpenServer 5.0.7 are limited to recognising just over 539GB of disk
          capacity.

If you present a physical or logical drive that is say 600GB size to
one of these drivers then OpenServer 5.0.7 will only see a disk of
          61Gb in size (i.e. 600Gb-539Gb).

The wd disk driver (BTLD) included in Supplement CD 5 has been
tested with IDE disks up to 1Tb in size and theoretically can
support IDE disks up to 2Tb in size.

Supplement CD 5 is available to download from:

          http://www.sco.com/support/update/download/release.php?rid=187

If you have a SCSI based system where you are not seeing
the full capacity of the disk at install/configuration time, and
the disk is greater than 539GB in size your options are:

          1) If you are using Hardware RAID to build the Primary
disk try using a logical disk size that is less than 539GB
to see if this solves the problem

          2) If you are using a single SCSI disk that is greater
than 539GB in size then replace it with a primary disk
          less than 539Gb in size

          3) If you have the option to use an IDE controller and
disk as the primary controller and disk on your system
instead of SCSI then this may be an acceptable alternative
          in some cases

          4) Upgrade to OpenServer 6.0.0 which does not have these
          disk size limitations.
