SCO UnixWare® 7.1.4

Reliant® HA Release 1.1.4

ReliantHA is a clustering solution for enterprises requiring high levels of application and data availability. Businesses today are increasingly dependent on large servers to support their information processing needs, and any interruption in these services can be enormously expensive. ReliantHA increases the overall availability of applications and critical data by connecting multiple servers together as nodes within a single high-availability fail-over cluster. Applications do not need to be aware of the operation of the cluster, and all nodes within the cluster may be used simultaneously for processing.

ReliantHA extends the high performance, Reliability, Availability and Scalability (RAS) characteristics of the UnixWare server operating system editions to provide continuous monitoring and fault detection of applications, resources, and entire nodes. In the event of a failure, automated recovery scripts are initiated to enable rapid or transparent restoration of services, depending on the application. Recovery actions include the unattended restart of resources, switching to alternative data paths, or migrating services to other systems within the cluster. Once a failed node has been replaced or repaired it may be returned to service in the active cluster. A graphical Configuration Manager provides a single point of control for the entire cluster.

Special Bundle for ReliantHA

ReliantHA can take advantage of new features in UnixWare 7.1.4, such as the ability to to utilize large software RAID volumes spanning multiple disks created using ODM, and to support fault tolerant high performance Multi-Path I/O capable devices for data storage.

Single Server Licenses for ReliantHA are available add Clustering to UnixWare 7 servers that are already deployed. For new deployments, a special 2 node clustering bundle is available that includes two (2) UnixWare 7.1.4 Business Edition operating system licenses with two (2) ReliantHA single server licenses at a lower price than if the 4 licenses were licensed separately. In addition, the 2 node bundle is available with or without SCO Update Service

What’s New In Release 1.1.4?

Release 1.1.4 has been enhanced with better GAB halt diagnostics and enabled for single heartbeat system startup for customers who need to start up a system before a cluster is established. This upgraded version is designed for both new installations and updating version 1.1.1 through 1.1.3 of ReliantHA.
