SCO OpenServer Enterprise System Release 5.0.0, 5.0.2
SCO OpenServer Desktop System Release 5.0.0, 5.0.2
SCO OpenServer Host System Release 5.0.0, 5.0.2

Problem
I am installing on a Toshiba Tecra 700CT. This Notebook PC
has a built-in ATAPI CD-ROM drive. When I attempt to install
the system, I select "SCSI CD ROM" as the Media device to be
used, but I get this error message:

No SCSI host adapter was found. You must
have a SCSI host adapter configured before
you start your installation. Please read
                the Hardware Compatibility Handbook to
determine how to configure your adapter.

CAUSE:
There may be a conflict between the Boot kernel's dptr and wd
drivers that causes the detection of the ATAPI EIDE Controller
          to fail.

Solution
Disable the dptr driver from the Boot kernel using this
          boot string:

                defbootstr ahslink=atapi disable=dptr

If you are installing SCO OpenServer Release 5.0.0 using the
AHS 5.1 or AHS 5.2 BTLD, use the boot string:

                defbootstr ahslink=wd disable=dptr

If you are using the SCO OpenServer 5.0.2 Boot disk, use the boot
          string:

                defbootstr disable=dptr

NOTE:
This workaround may apply to systems other than the Toshiba
          Tecra 700CT.
